3 trends apparel designers need to know today and post COVID-19
Protection, Storage, and Adaptability are 3 trends that have gained importance. COVID-19 has significantly accelerated those trends. More is expected from outerwear and all functional design than ever before. Apparel must be able to function in a variety of situations, look great and adapt super quick. One of the companies on the forefront of this idea is Riot Division.
Nike is also on the forefront. Their new line, called ISPA stands for Improvise, Scavenge, Protect and Adapt. The new Inflatable jacket is designed to adapt to sudden changes in temperature. The jacket, according to High Snobiety, builds on the ACG Airvantage jacket from 2006, which also had inflatable capabilities.
NikeLab ACG GORE-TEX jacket also fits the bill. Lightweight, waterproof 3-layer GORE-TEX , keeps you dry while a detachable hood wraps around your neck for extra coverage. If the sky clears, interior straps let you carry the jacket wherever your next move is.
Detachable storage and protection adds versatility and adaptability. More pockets to keep it all and more protection for whatever life throws at you.
